you told me yourself, you yourself told me vous me l'avez dit vous-même, c'est vous-même qui me l'avez dit/tu me l'as dit toi-même, c'est toi-même qui me l'as dit;
you must have known yourself that they wouldn't accept vous-même, vous auriez dû savoir qu'ils n'accepteraient pas/toi-même, tu aurais dû savoir qu'ils n'accepteraient pas
(d) (impersonal use)
you have to know how to look after yourself in the jungle dans la jungle, il faut savoir se défendre tout seul ou se débrouiller soi-même;
